📢 Appeal for information - Burglary - Parkside

We are appealing for information following a burglary that occurred overnight on Friday 3rd July into Saturday 4th July 2026 on Meadowbank Walk, Parkside.

Unknown person(s) have gained entry into the house. Once inside, car keys were stolen, and the suspects subsequently made off with the vehicle.

✅ Update: The stolen vehicle has since been recovered by police after being found abandoned.

We would like to remind residents of the following advice to help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of burglary:

🔑 Key Safe Security

Avoid leaving keys easily accessible in external key safes, especially in visible or poorly secured locations.

Position key safes out of direct sight (not near the front door).

Regularly change access codes, particularly if multiple people have access.

Consider alternative arrangements where possible, such as trusted neighbours or smart lock systems.

🚪 General Home Security

Always lock doors and windows, even when at home.

Store keys well away from doors and windows, and out of sight.

Install motion sensor lighting and CCTV where possible.

Use alarms and steering wheel locks to protect vehicles.

🚗 Vehicle Security

Never leave keys in unattended areas.

Consider using a Faraday pouch to prevent keyless theft.

Park in well-lit, secure locations where possible.
